Adeline Baban

Executive Director, Co-Founder

Filipina American violinist Adeline Baban is a leading advocate for community-building in the arts, spearheading initiatives that unite artists and audiences through collaboration and creative programming. As Executive Director of the Westside Chamber Players, a young artist-led chamber orchestra she co-founded in 2022, she has platformed early-career musicians, conductors, and composers in over 60 free programs to local communities in the New York metropolitan area often under-invited and underrepresented in concert culture. Now in its fourth season under her leadership, WCP has launched multiple initiatives beyond its orchestral programming, including an annual Call for Scores for student composers and recently debuting a seven-week Young Composers Lab curriculum for third- and fourth-grade elementary school students. Adeline has also developed programs for organizations including The Next Festival of Emerging Artists, Manhattan School of Music, and the Asian American Arts Alliance.

Adeline has held Concertmaster positions with ensembles including the GRAMMY-Award winning New York Youth Symphony, Manhattan Symphony Orchestra, and Mannes Orchestra, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and New York City Center. She proudly champions contemporary music as a means of diversifying the canon and advocating for communities of color in the arts, recently performing Zhou Tian’s Violin Concerto Night Tour and Filipino folk song transcriptions by Gilopez Kabayao. She has worked closely with members of renowned string quartets including the American, Brooklyn Rider, Harlem, and JACK, and has served as a Teaching Artist with Concerts for Compassion, leading a classical violin educational program for second-grade students.

A Northern Virginia native, Adeline has performed at the Philippine Embassy, Argentine Embassy, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Comfortable with all genres, she maintains an active freelance career in New York City, with recent appearances at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Radio City Music Hall, and with Red Bull Music, supporting artists including Yandel, Sienna Spiro, and Asake.

Adeline holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Rebecca Fischer, and is graduating with her Master’s of Music at the Manhattan School of Music this May, studying with Nicholas Mann.
